I have been using my Humidifier for about two weeks now. My nasal passages have been painfully dry for the past few winters. I noticed a difference within 24 hours of running my humidifier in my apartment. I run the unit in whatever room I'm in the most when I am home to counteract the drying effect of the central heating system. I barely notice it's running it's so quiet.
Two drawbacks:
First, I'm a sensitive sleeper, so no luck running it while I sleep even though it is extremely quiet. (I've been told others find this very soothing, but most noises drive me nuts.) To still get the benefits of humidity in my room, I run it on high for a few hours to get moisture in the room before I go to sleep. That's seems to be a good compromise.
Second, I was horrified how many deposits were on the heating element and in the evaporative chimney after only a few days of running it 5-8 hours a day. It's scary that I've been drinking that water! I'll look into a water filtering system. For now, however, everything cleans up nicely with a damp cloth except the heating element. I still have minerals stuck to parts of that. Still researching a safe way to remove them so I get optimal evaporation.
Overall, very pleased with my purchase. I'm glad that all my research paid off and I found such a good product.
